Behind the scenes: NWPCWA Candidate Training Lead Christina Pedersen

Ever wondered who’s behind some of NWPC-WA’s candidate trainings? It’s a complex job: finding amazing speakers and trainers, handling venue and catering arrangements, and communicating with up to 50 anxious would-be candidates for each session.  Luckily, it’s well within the skillset and passion of Christina Pedersen: tireless NWPC-WA volunteer, soon-to-be high school biology teacher, and mom to two young boys.  Christina recently shared more about her work with NWPC-WA in a typically high-energy zoom call from her home in Marysville.

Today, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the presidential election, and for the first time in our nation’s history, we get to say...

CONGRATULATIONS, MADAM VICE PRESIDENT! 

Women up and down the ticket fought hard in this election. Thanks to the tireless work of thousands in Washington state and around the country, we made important gains. We will continue to push for women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, human rights, and a government that more closely reflects America. We are not finished, but we are moving closer. And we did so with a record-breaking number of people casting ballots.

The final count is still being tallied--but there is good news

If the last four years have taught us nothing else, they have given us deep wells of endurance, persistence, tenacity and resolve. We always knew we needed to wait for every vote to count--and that’s what we are going to do.  

While we stay optimistic about the results of our Presidential election, we are honored to report some great outcomes for our endorsed women candidates and races here in Washington state. 

Nearly 70 percent of our endorsed women candidates across Washington State are winning--59 out of 85!
