State Senate 26th LD

State Senator Emily Randall is a second generation Kitsap County native. Like many women, she decided to run because she is frustrated by politicians in Olympia who lack the courage to do what’s right for their families and neighbors. As an LGBTQ woman of color, Emily faced a different set of hurdles compared to what other candidates may face.

With the support of her personal network, Emily attended one of the NWPC-WA Candidate Trainings that were held specifically for women of color. She learned the nuts and bolts of running for office, including how to navigate the system as a member of marginalized communities. Once she declared her candidacy, she relied upon the Caucus for weekly tele-trainings and PAC money, which helped propel her to win by 104 votes!
